Introducing Evanston Chiropractor Dr Tony Breitbach
Simply put, I was a skeptic when it came to chiropractic. That skepticism all changed when I hurt my back playing basketball. I was at an all-day shooting camp and we must have been on the court for at least 8 straight hours. Anyway, near the end of the day I felt something pop in my back. For the next three weeks my back just kept getting worse, and as weird as it sounds, I started to get heartburn every day. I got some pills from the medical doctor and they helped for a few hours but then it was back to the same. I didn't know what I was going to do. My mom, Sue, convinced me to give this doctor a try. This new doctor did an exam, took some films, and then ‘adjusted’ my spine. The adjustment didn’t hurt; it actually felt really good. I got relief, and I could actually walk around normally again. Not only did my back get relief; my heartburn also went away. It worked so well for me, and I was so impressed with the other ‘miracles’ I saw in his office, that I eventually went to chiropractic school myself.
Dr. Breitbach began his chiropractic education, with his pre-chiropractic requirements at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa. There he studied basic pre-professional courses with an emphasis on the basic science courses such as inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, along with basic physiology and anatomy courses.
After completing his course of study there, he was accepted at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport Iowa. During his four years of studies at Palmer, courses included biochemistry, a major emphasis on anatomy and human physiology, x-ray, diagnosis, chiropractic adjusting techniques and patient care in the Palmer College Public Clinic.
It is Dr. Breitbach's mission to be able to help as many people as he can reach their full health potential through chiropractic care.
